On June 17, witnessed by Genertec General Manager Lu Yimin, Minister for Innovation and Technology László Palkovics, Chinese Economic and Commercial Counsellor in Hungary Liu Bo and Kaposvár Mayor Károly Szita, CMC laid the cornerstone of 100 MW solar park in Kaposvár, southwest Hungary.

The park will be the largest in Central Europe once completed in December. The project signified a successful docking of China’s Belt and Road Initiative with Hungary's Opening to the East policy. After the grid-connected operation, it can generate 130 million kwh of electricity every year, save 45,000 tons of standard coal, reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 120,000 tons, and significantly improve the utilization of clean energy in Hungary and even Central and Eastern Europe. The solar park will be a green model for the city of Kaposvár.
